Traditional framed fire encasement solutions, reliant on intumescent paint and a steel framework, are time consuming and their bulkiness consumes valuable floor space.

Our slimline solution minimises floor space encroachment and, because our fireboard are designed to be stapled together, it's super-quick to fabricate protection for steel framework and pillars.

Traditional framed fire encasement systems typically encroach the floor space by up to 65mm, which quickly adds up. A similarly performing frameless solution takes up only 45mm, adding 30% more floorspace around each beam.

Reduced waste and labour onsite as bespoke, cut to length Knauf Fireboard is available (subject to minimum order quantity). Any changes to widths would need to be completed on-site by the contractor.

A fibre-glass tape used on all joints in Knauf Frameless Encasement installation. To be embedded in Knauf Fireboard Joint Filler and Finish Spachatel.

Knauf Fireboard is assembled around beams and columns using staples to fix board to board. Staples used are to DIN 18182 or EN 14566 with steel wire diameter ≥1.34mm and are available from others.

Knauf Fireboard Joint Filler and Finish Spachatel is a gypsum-based powder that is mixed with water to form a pliable joint filler Knauf recommend that Fireboards must be tightly butted. Joint filler is required for bedding joint tape.

On exposed encasements, Knauf Fireboard Joint Filler and Finish Spachatel can also be used as a finish, providing a smooth surface for decoration if required.

Knauf Hartmut is the ideal fixing through the Knauf partition stud to an abutting Knauf Frameless Encasement system.

Fixings included The fixing includes a M5 x 60mm screw.
